Movies in the park

In addition to swimming, summer in Portland means movies in the park. Eric got home early and we headed over to Irving Park. I had prepared a picnic. Of course, Carli wanted to be early so we got there at 6 p.m. and the movie did not start until dusk (9:15)!

We spread out our blanket with lots of other families, ate our dinner and headed over to the playground. "Fantastic Mr. Fox" started and the girls settled down. The girls stayed up for the entire movie and the ride home, even though it was 11 p.m. All in all, a great summer evening.

Check out the calendar. There are lots of movies scheduled throughout the summer.

Playdate with Claire

On Thursday we met up wtih Claire in the Esther Short park in Vancouver. Claire is Pearl's orphanage sister. Although the girls did not play "together" that much, it is always great to see and catch up with both Claire and Julie. Carli led the girls on an ant hunt as Carli marched them around the park. It will be great to watch the girls grow up together.
