For the second half of spring break, we went to Seattle. We had great weather, good food and good "hang out" time. We saw my friend Lisa and ate lots of cupcakes. We spent a lot of time along the water, in Pike Street Market and at the Olympic Sculpture Park. The kids also enjoyed the pool at the hotel. Carli said it was a great spring break. Tomorrow her and Eric are off to the mountain to ski together.

Spring Break Part 1
We spent the last two days on the mountain. Our friend, Don, let us stay at his cabin in Government Camp. Carli and Eric got to go to Ski Bowl to practice Carli's skiiing skills. Next weekend, they will go up again and use the lift for some real skiing action. Eric says she is ready for the "real thing". Carli came back super excited about her new-found skills.

Play date with Claire
Today Pearl's orphanage sister, Claire, came over for a play date. The girls are so cute together and are just about equal is size. The both weigh 26 pounds-so even more validation that Pearl is exactly where she should be as far as size is concerned.
The girls took a little bit to get warmed up but after a game of "duck-duck-goose" they were ready to give it their all and played hide and seek, Zhu Zhu pets, cards and dolls.
It is great that this relationship remains strong and we made plans to get together soon.

Third Grade Play
Today is finally the big performance of the third grade play. Carli has been planning her roles since kindergarten! Yesterday during dress rehearsals I was thinking to myself that the kids needed more practice. But at today's morning performance, the kids really "pulled it together" and did great!
Carli has several roles including an Indian gathering food, a radio announcer and a women's rights activist. She did great. It was such a cute performance. There is lots of singing coupled with tons of historical facts about Portland. Tonight there is another performance at 6:30 p.m. Eric will go with his parents and sister, Donna.
