Red Velvet Cupcakes

Is there anything finer than red velvet cupcakes?!  I think not!  Except for maybe some sun on a rainy day when you had planned a garden party for your husband's birthday.  I have been prepping all week and made cupcakes last night, hoping the weather would improve.  But, not only did it not improve, the weatherman is predicting heavier rain in the afternoon coupled with thunder storms.  Unfortunately, we decided to cancel the party and reschedule it in two weeks.  I am sure the weather will be nicer once we are in July, although in the Pacific Northwest you can never be certain!  We will be enjoying lots of red velvet cupcakes in the meantime, considering I made two dozen.  Anyone in the vicinity stop by for one...my waist will thank you.

Zoo Photo Shoot

A couple of weeks ago, there was a call for kids for a zoo photo shoot.  Carli was excited to go and received pizza and four tickets for a later admission to the zoo.  I have not seen all the pictures taken, but thought this one was pretty good.

Only in Portland

This stop sign is at my daughter's school.  I have no idea who did but it is a pretty cute concept.  Afterall, why should stop signs be naked?!  Long live knitters!

Second Piano Recital

Yesterday was Carli's second piano recital.  She played two songs and there were about 25 performers total.  Carli was nervous but she played beautifully, although she would not let me take her picture so I had to sneek a few shots.

Carli's Room

It is not often that Carli actually makes her bed.  She did such a cute job!

More Rose Show Pics

Here are some pics of the tables for the entries.  By 8:45 they were packed full.  Unfortunately, no wins for Carli....she was a good sport about it, though.

Rose Show

Carli's school has an annual rose show...at least 50 years running!  The theme is Rock and Roll and Carli has decided to submit 5 entries.  Her best entry is "Most Unusual Container".  She is hoping for a win and even left herself a note last night to prepare.
