Re-adoption Status

We are almost done with our re-adoption. I received the waiver from the DHS and now need the Adoption Decree to be signed by a judge. Once that is complete, I can apply for the new birth certificate with Pearl's American name and our names as the parents. Probably just two more weeks and we will be DONE!

We have been going to swim class every night. Carli is swimming like a fish but Pearl wants nothing to do with it. Hopefully one day she will realize the water can be fun!

Long time, no write...

I have been negligent in my posting responsibilities. I just got back from a week's worth of work travel. The week went great. I enjoyed the work and being "kid-less". It was a much needed respite from my daily life.

One night while I was away, Carli reported to me that daddy was being "very bad". During dinner he was reading a magazine and looking at girls in bikinis. Carli's answer to this problem was "Mom, let's you and I move to Spain. It will be marvelous!" I like the way she thinks.

Carli is out of school for the summer. Pearl is talking like crazy and is saying "please" and "thank you" in all the right places. I am hoping for a fun and relaxing summer mixed in with some work. It certainly feels like summer to me!

Bangs

I decided I was tired of Pearl's sheepdog look so I cut bangs last night. I think they came out pretty good.

Dentist appointment

Carli and Pearl went to the dentist on Wednesday. Again, Carli had no cavities. She was done in less than 15 minutes! Pearl has four teeth on top, two on the bottom and two molars. The dentist said it was strange that she did not have four on the bottom before the molars started coming in. He did not even feel teeth in her gums. So she might be missing two bottom teeth. The dentist is going to watch the situation. Otherwise she, too, passed with flying colors.

Re-adoption paperwork

I filed our re-adoption paperwork with the State of Oregon on Wednesday. Wrote a couple more checks and then mailed a second set of paperwork to the DHS in Salem. Now, we wait about eight weeks for a form to come back. I then take that form back to the court house for another four week wait. And then finally, Pearl will be ours in name and body. We will get a new birth certificate with her American name and Eric and my name on it as the birth parents. I like to think we are in the final leg of the marathon...
