New York Cupcakes

If you happen to find yourself on the east side of Seattle, you have to go to New York Cupcakes. Not only because the cupcakes are absolutely delicious but also the shop is owned by a friend of mine. She took a huge leap of faith and bought the shop and has been relishing in great success due to her hard work and smarts. We went to Seattle last weekend and I was able to stop by and say hello. I was incredibly impressed with the shop and the cupcakes.

Way to go Lisa!

Post-placement social worker visit

We had our post-placement visit and it went well. Carli informed Cathy (social worker) that if she had any questions about Pearl, she should ask her (not Eric and me). Carli was quite amusing and made the visit pass quickly. Carli even took Cathy's picture. Overall, Pearl is acting perfectly normal and we passed with flying colors. This post-placement visit was important because it is a required step in the readoption process that we must complete next.

Carli is 7 today!

Carli has been counting the hours until she reached the ripe ol' age of 7! She is very excited because she will get her ears pierced tonight and go out for her favorite meal...Lebanese food at Nicolas. Tomorrow she will have a cooking party with 11 of her friends. I will post pictures tomorrow.

Happy Birthday sweetie pie!

A missing tooth

Carli has been waiting anxiously to lose her top front tooth. She has been upset because it seems that all her classmates are losing their teeth faster than her. No matter how many times I tell her it will come out when it is ready, she continues to jiggle it hoping to get it out. Well, this morning her tooth was barely hanging on so I asked one of the other moms to pull it out and she did. Carli was very happy and proud to have a big gap in her mouth! I'll post a picture when she gets home from school.

Also, Pearl started today at a neighborhood in-home daycare. She will go every Friday. I think this will give her the much needed interaction with other kids and it will give me a sanity break so that I can get some work done. Today with my new found freedom I went to the gym, did some Brownies' banking, went to the library to do some research on a class I am developing, dropped off our taxes and volunteered in Carli's classroom. Carli did not know I was coming, so she was very surprised. The kids in her class are so sweet and they all wanted to sit on my lap during reading time. It is fun to be so popular!
