Eric has had quite a year for travel...and we are only in the sixth month of the year!  He is currently in Sydney, Australia and told me we need to add it to our "travel list"!  The flight was very looonnngggg, but even so, well worth it according to him.  Yesterday, he took a 25 minute ferry ride to Manly Beach, which is a super cool beach/surf area. People were surfing, stand-up paddle boarding and ocean swimming.



There are these very small but brave parakeets everywhere. They were after the little sugar packets on the tables.



Rose Show

Carli's school participates in the Portland Rose Show.  This is a 90+ year tradition.  There are several categories including best single rose, best arrangement and most unusual container.  Carli decided on only one entry this year:  Most Unusual Container.  Her idea was to build Jeld-Wen field and the roses would be the spectators.  The attention to detail was fantastic--even the lego men had on replica jerseys!  Unfortunately, she only received an "Honorable Mention".  I believe she was robbed!  But what do I know, I am just her biased mom!
